John Moselage of Memphis, Shelby County, Tennessee, displays a collection of effigy pots found at Parkin Mounds near Parkin, Cross County, Arkansas. Moselage documents various collections from Parkin Mounds, now part of Parkin Archaeological State Park, that were collected by professional archaeologists, amateurs and pot-hunters. The pot on the left is a face effigy of light colored clay with its back and top dark red. The middle pot is face effigy decorated with dark red streaks. The object on the right is reddish animal effigy with white decorative marks on back and sides. Moselage was attending a meeting of the Arkansas Archaeological Society, of which he is a member.
